Here’s a good recipe I forgot to post. I will be back in the New Year with Resolutions, Vegan Recipes, Daily Juices and a ton of crafts I want to try. Very excited for 2011!
So you know that parsley is so dark green because of it’s rich chlorophyll content. It’s very cleansing to the kidneys and enhances the body’s absorption of manganese, which helps build bone. Did you know that pregnant women shouldn’t consume too much parsley because it’s a natural labor inducer? Hmmm Something to think about for that 41st week?
1 Bunch of Parsley – however much you have
1 Piece of Ginger – start small to see how much you like
2 Carrots – because they won’t last another day!
1 Hunk of Cabbage – because that’s all I have left
1 Apple – or more, doesn’t matter.
1 Hunk of Pineapple – pineapple makes everything taste good
1 Lime, peeled. – I sloppily sliced off the peel but you should make an effort to keep the white skin on.
Throw it all in the juicer then blend with ice. It’s not pretty – orange and green are not best buddies on the color wheel – but it tastes tangy and sweet. Husband and child give it a thumbs up. Oh – I also snuck in a teaspoon of flaxseed oil to both their glasses. Neither noticed.
I added a teaspoon each of Spirulina, Wheat Grass, Brewers Yeast and Flaxseed Meal to the rest of the blended juice which looks like about two full glasses worth. It looks like a swamp but tastes great.
